Don´t find typical American shopping mall in Veracruz
In Mexico aren´t so much classic shopping malls, which are typically for the United States or other countries. Much more you will find there plenty of streets with small shops and boutiques. And there are lots of department stores, much more than the typical shopping malls. For example Walmart has hundreds of branches here (total of 20% of all Walmart branches are in Mexico) that are hidden under the names Walmart, Superama, Suburbia, VIPS, Sam's Club and Bodegga Aurerá. In these stores you will find classic goods as in all department stores - clothes, shoes, jewelry, household goods, bedding and of course food.
Larger company operating department stores, with more than 600 branches throughout Mexico, is Soriana, which operates supermarkets and department stores for consumer and wholesale retailers. The first Soriana´s department store in the state of Veracruz was opened in 1998. As for type of goods concerned here, in the offer are classic goods typical for department stores - clothes, cosmetics, household goods - in short, almost everything you can think of.
The state of Yucatán? Most of life takes place in Mérida
The largest city of this state is Mérida, which also concentrates all local life - and thus shopping too. There are several department stores, many small shops on the street, marketplaces and shopping malls. One of them is instance La Gran Plaza - a classic shopping mall with dozens of various shops, among which are also Zara, Bershka, Pull and Bear and Stradivarius.
Another local shopping mall is Plaza Las Américas, in which, in addition to many great shops, is also a cinema. Whether you are looking for beautiful clothes, jewelry, perfumes or a new decoration to your home, in this shopping center, you certainly will be satisfied. The third interesting shopping mall in Mérida is Plaza Fiesta, which will engage you at first sight with its interesting architecture.
